Welcome to Hermitage Elem School
 Hermitage Elementary School is where teachers and staff are dedicated to high expectations for all students while providing a warm and personal atmosphere for education. The building was built in 1962. Our enrollment is 261 students in grades K-4.Navy and gold are our school colors and our mascot is Leo the Lion! We are part of the McGavock Cluster.
Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, all classroom teachers are highly qualified. Along with the help of our highly qualified Reading Specialist, Librarian, Language! Instructor, Music, Art, Physical Education, and Special Education teachers, we continue to strive to improve our instructional programs and practices to meet the individual needs of all our students.
Hermitage Elementary offers the following programs and opportunities: Art Smart, Math-a-thon, 4-H Club, Drug/Alcohol Education, Junior Achievement, Tennessee Health program, Mayor's Art, Encore, Jump Rope for Heart, Fire Safety, Read Across America, Food 2 Families, after school Art program, and Field Trips.
Hermitage Elementary has a very active P.T.O. and has had this type of support for many years. Along with the P.T.O. we have community partners such as: YMCA Fun Company, Donelson/Hermitage Chamber of Commerce, Wilson Bank, FLIP (Friends Learning In Pairs) Senior Citizen Volunteer Program, Rabies Clinic, and Voting Precinct. Our current Pencil Partners are; Hermitage Publix, Hermitage McDonald's, Donelson/Hermitage Leadership, AIMS of IRS, Hermitage Kroger, McKendree Village, Hermitage Target, and Hermitage Wal-Mart.
Come visit us, better yet, come be a part of Hermitage Elementary! Volunteer as a tutor, reader, cafeteria monitor, office helper, or helper in one of our outstanding classrooms.
