There is a McGavock Parent Cluster Group Meeting this Thursday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m., at McGavock High School. Most likely in the cafeteria at the back of the building.

   Also, the ONLY fall fundraiser for PTO starts on Friday, August 29 running through Friday, September 12. This is Enjoy the City Nashville and Surrounding Area Savings Books. Each book is $20 with 50% or $10 of each staying in our school. Each child selling just 2 books, will receive a FREE popsicle. Each child who sells 5 books will get the popsicle plus a FREE book, a dance party at school, and a chance for an even larger prize. Each child who sells 10 books will get all of the before mentioned items, plus $10 Target gift card. The gift cards are cumulative with every 10 books being sold. Sell 20, get a $20 gift card, sell 40, get a $40 gift card, etc...We ask that all pre-paid orders and money be turned into your child's teacher by Friday, September 12, so that those orders can promptly be filled.

The PTO hopes to bring in a little, friendly team competition as well, by dividing the school into a Blue Team and a Gold Team. Those teams and leaders are yet to be determined, but will soon be announced. The winning team wins bragging rights, while the losing team leader will need to wear some silly attire for pickup date one afternoon at school. This proved to be a lot of fun last year. A little competition is a good thing. So work for yourself, your team and in turn your school.

Our first family Spirit Night will be Thursday, September 11 at Chick- fil-A. Bring the family and tell all your neighbors that it's Hermitage Elementary Night at Chick-fil-A. Don't forget to tell the

cashier when you make your purchases, be it inside or drive-thru.

They will give a % of our sales that night back to our school.

The next family Spirit Night will be Tuesday, September 23 at CiCi's Pizza, here in Hermitage. Again bring your family and invite all your neighbors to eat pizza!! Don't forget to tell the cashier you are with Hermitage Elementary School so we will again earn % of our sales generated that night.

CLIP AND SAVE!! Clip and Save Box Tops. These are chances for FREE

money to come into our school. Each box top is worth 10¢ and add up fast. Clip these from many of the products we use in our homes each day. For a complete list of items participating in box tops, visit boxtops4education.com. While you are there, visit the Box Tops Marketplace for items you may purchase on-line. Any purchases on-line through the Marketplace will also give money back to our school. Each of the participating merchants have certain % of sales they give, many of these are at least 4%. So do you send Aunt Sally something in Idaho for Christmas each year? Order it through the Marketplace, have it shipped to her and Hermitage Elementary will earn a % of your purchase. Everyone wins!! Your shopping is done, Aunt Sally has a great gift and our school gets the FREE money offered by that merchant.

SCAN you Publix Partners card the next time you buy groceries. They will give 1% of all sales scanned to our school.

PURCHASE AND USE your Kroger Cares Cards. These act like gift cards and start at $10 each. They may be refilled and recharged according to how much you spend on groceries, and some areas gas. Again, a great gift idea. Mail a $10 Kroger card in that belated birthday card, explain the program and how your school will receive 4% on purchases through the card, and again everyone is a winner.
